Candidates to go head-to-head at another GY1 bi-election

Mon 31 Jan 2022

St Peter Port will be holding a contested bi-election for douzenier on Wednesday 9 February 2022.

The candidates standing are Kelly Hainsworth and Anita Kilby.

Polling stations will be based at the Constables’ Office at Lefebvre Street and in the foyer of Beau Sejour and will be open from 10am – 8pm.  After which a count will determine the lucky candidate.

Constable Zoe Lihou said that she expected the voting to be very close as both candidates have merits that will help enhance the offering of the douzaine to the parish.

‘Kelly and Anita are excellent candidates and it is a shame that we only have one vacancy to fill.  Both are accomplished professionals and have a number of qualities that will add to the collective skill sets of our Douzaine.

‘They are both ready and able to serve the Parish and I wish them all the best in their campaigns.’

The bi-election is the second election to take place in the space of two months following the regular Parish elections held in November each year.

Please note our office is only open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am – 3pm.
