Bumper Crop of Candidates for Mid Term Elections

Mon 04 Jul 2022

St Peter Port Parish have received five nominations for their two mid-term Douzenier vacancies. Constable Lihou, in her capacity as Returning Officer is delighted with the news and the number of nominations received. The most encouraging aspect is that two of our relatively new Douzeniers and one of our newest staff members has reached and, engaged with and encouraged three of the five. Just shows the electorate made the right choice in November and January. Positive people attract positive events. Typically mid term elections can be fairly low key but this bumper crop demonstrates we are starting to shift misconceptions of what Douzaine does and that this administration is starting to reap the rewards of the hard work of the whole team. If at the meeting, seven or more parishioners opt to defer the vote, then a Parish election will take place within fourteen days of the meeting. Anyone wishing to meet candidates can do so at our next Parish drop in Saturday 9 July 10-12 at La Vallette Bathing Pools-more details to follow.

St Peter Port Constables and Douzaine hereby give notice that following publications of 17 & 24 June 2022 the election of two Douzeniers will take place on Wednesday 13 July 2022 at the Constables Office, Lefebvre Street at 7.30 pm.
